It functions as a personal assistant for epilepsy management by offering features for systematically recording and storing data related to seizures, treatments, and lifestyle factors that may influence seizure activity. Accurate documentation of seizures and treatment regimens is intended to enhance understanding of the condition and improve care strategies. The medication management module aims to streamline drug intake adherence and optimize treatment plans.

Key functionalities include:

• Documenting seizures, including symptoms, context, and consequences.
• Supporting anti-epileptic treatment management through detailed descriptions of current medications, optional medication alarms, and archival of previous prescriptions.
• Reporting potential side effects of medications as well as health and life events that could impact epilepsy control.
• Managing important health-related dates.
• Generating visual representations of seizure frequency and patterns in relation to therapies.

The second version of Epi & Me has undergone a comprehensive redesign to improve user experience:

• The interface has been modernized and optimized for better usability.
• The seizure declaration process has been enhanced with an improved algorithm that allows users to quickly log seizures, create seizure models, and provide detailed descriptions at their convenience, including impacts on daily life.
• Managing medication therapy has become more straightforward: users simply enter drug name, dosage, and frequency; the system accommodates timing adjustments, dose modifications, and medication alarms. The app now accounts for devices like Vagus Nerve Stimulators and the ketogenic diet, with all prescriptions securely archived.
• Following new prescriptions, users will receive a survey after a few weeks to gather feedback on tolerability and ease of treatment intake.
• The depiction of side effects, health events, and treatment responses has been refined to improve clarity.
• Graphical reports depicting seizures, adverse events, and prescriptions are now generated faster, offering more intuitive visualization and easier manipulation. Additionally, users can send reports via email directly from the app to healthcare providers or other contacts of their choice.
